I started this series when I was learning how to throw pottery. In order to motivate myself, I made pots for my many Dudleya plants that are also homegrown from seed. Each Dudleya will come planted in a pot from my earlier batch of work, therefore, these pots will have many imperfections. I find that pottery made for plants is a lot more aesthetically forgiving as it plays well with natural, asymmetrical characteristics.

Overtime, you will see my throwing skills will have improved, but I will still create ugly pots to experiment new glazes on, and have many Dudleyas that will need homes.

DUDLEYA CYMOSA PUMILA
A California native succulent that is primarily found in the San Gabriel Mountains.
It is found along steep rocky outcrops and grows well in shade. Too much sun will typically cause it to burn. Die-back is expected during the hot summer months and the green leaves will reemerge by early spring. The Dudleya that is being shown has had it's picture taken right as it was about to wake up from dormancy. Overall, these plants remain small and flat, with rosettes spanning no more than a couple inches.
